Last night, a multi-vehicle car accident on eastbound I-275 in Sharonville resulted in the death of a 25-year-old woman and a 4-year-old girl. The woman had pulled over to the side of the highway due to car trouble, and was struck by a passing vehicle. After being transported to Bethesda North Hospital by helicopter, she later died at University of Cincinnati Medical Center. The child was also transported to Bethesda North, where she succumbed to fatal injuries.

Several other people involved in the fatal car accident were taken to area hospitals, but authorities described their injuries as non-life-threatening.

Investigators are still determining the cause of the accident. Any witnesses are advised to call the Sharonville Police Department at (513) 563-1147.

Too many lives are needlessly taken in car accidents every year. What makes these events all the more heartbreaking is the fact that they could have been prevented. If another driver’s carelessness or negligence leads to a wrongful death, the family of the victim deserves justice and compensation for their overwhelming loss.
