Police are still investigating a deadly Ohio car accident that occurred on Sunday, July 14th along Route 93 in Jackson County. A Chevrolet pick-up truck that was traveling north (near Standpipe Road) collided with a Chevy sedan traveling south. A passenger in the southbound vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene, and the driver was flown to Cabell Huntington Hospital with “incapacitating” injuries, according to WOWKTV.
The driver of the pick-up truck was transported to Holzer Hospital, but his injuries were considered non-life-threatening at the time of his arrival. Police suspect that driver impairment was a factor in the accident, but have not discussed fault any further. The Ohio State Patrol Jackson Post is investigating the car accident.
Drunk driving accidents remain one of the most common causes of wrongful death and serious injury throughout the United States. The most tragic thing about them is that they can so easily be avoided, if only impaired drivers would choose not to get behind the wheel. If you have been seriously injured in a car accident caused by a drunk driver, make sure you have an experienced attorney on your side to fight for your rights and help you obtain the compensation you deserve.
