A 47-year-old man from Edgewater, Florida who was waiting for his family to join him in Ohio was killed in a drunk driving accident just before midnight on Monday, September 23rd. The pick-up truck that he was a passenger in crashed into a ditch off of State Road 285 in Guernsey County, Ohio. According to the Ohio State Patrol, alcohol was a factor in the crash, causing the 54-year-old driver to misjudge a curve and smash into the ditch.

The victim is survived by his wife and a 3-year-old daughter. He was working as a truck driver in Ohio, and in the process of finding a home to rent for his family. The couple would have been married five years in October.

One other passenger was present in the pick-up truck at the time of the DUI accident: a 52-year-old woman from Blacklick, Ohio. She was admitted to the hospital for injuries to her head and torso.
